In a remarkable feat, the latest Spider-Man film, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” has achieved one of the most successful opening weekends in the history of cinema, raking in an estimated $927 million globally in just four days. This impressive debut places the Tom Holland-starring Marvel film as the second-highest global opener of all time, right behind “Avengers: Endgame,” which launched with a record $1.2 billion in 2019.

Domestically, the film amassed $355 million, just shy of the $357.1 million opening record set by “Avengers: Endgame.” On the international front, the superhero blockbuster gathered $572 million from 66 markets. Notably, China was the top contributor overseas, bringing in $121 million, followed by the United Kingdom at $49 million, Mexico with $38.3 million, and South Korea at $25 million.

The movie also shattered opening weekend records in several countries. In India, it recorded its largest-ever Hollywood opening with $31.8 million. Other significant contributions included $26.6 million from France, $23.8 million from Brazil, and $15.6 million from Spain. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has comfortably outperformed the opening figures of its predecessor, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which earned $600 million globally, and “Avengers: Infinity War,” which debuted with $640 million worldwide.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, this installment in the Spider-Man series is set four years after the events of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” The story follows Peter Parker as he attempts to rebuild his life after the world has forgotten his identity. Along the way, he faces a mysterious new threat with assistance from unexpected allies. The film features a star-studded cast including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo.
